INDEX for Free Expression
Great site. btw, Art Spiegelman's encyclopedic survey of offensive cartoons in latest HARPER'S is also a must-see.

an open letter to Sen. Inhofe (R, OK)
Dear Senator Inhofe,
In today's paper you are quoted as saying that the alleged massacre in Haditha, "gives some justification or some credibility to some of the lies that have been told by people who are just anti-war. I think they're rejoicing in this."
First of all, to what "lies" are you referring? As a U.S. citizen who opposed this war as ill-conceived and unjustified from the beginning, I am not aware that the case against invading Iraq has been based upon any fabrications.
In fact, it seems that the argument for the invasion, based as it was on nonexistent WMDs, forged evidence regarding the purchase of "yellowcake" uranium from Niger, and mythical ties between a secular tyrant like Saddam and the religious fanatics of Al Qaeda, has been the dubious one.
And, finally, I do not "rejoice" in the news from Haditha; no American does.
